A Beginner’s Guide To Cubic Zirconia Pendants

Friday, July 9th, 2010

When Marilyn Monroe sang ‘Diamonds are a girl’s best friends’ she might have been talking for a lot of women. But then again, she was singing during a period earlier than cubic zirconia. Monroe was singing during the time when expensive diamonds were out of reach of many people, so diamonds were actually just the best friend of the blessed few. At the time Monroe was singing, there had been a lot of interest in imitation diamonds, but items were not quality and also tough to obtain. Who might have believed, then, that two guys dressed in white coats inside a laboratory might revolutionise the jewellery scene, marking the beginning of a growth of product sales of cubic zirconia pendants and ear-rings that would turn cubic zirconia into a desired jewel in its own right?

Obviously, the two researchers had more important issues to be looking into compared to the trivialities of the world of jewellery. They had been actually trying to make cubic zirconia, that had (and has) only ever been found once in its naturally created state, synthetically to use as a simulation ruby in laser technology. It was in the Seventies that they were firstly in a position to create cubic zirconia to use in lasers. It was quickly noticed that cubic zirconia was very similar to diamonds both aesthetically and gemologically, and thus it quickly grew to become common in jewellery.

Cubic zirconia pendants and ear-rings are so well received today simply because they really are extremely similar looking to diamonds. It is absolutely no exaggeration that very few jewellers can actually differenciate between the two using just the human eye alone. This particular benefit is coupled with the fact that cubic zirconia costs approximately a tenth of the price of natural diamond.

The scientific world further helped the case of cubic zirconia pendants, ear-rings and bracelets in the nineties, by enhancing the quality of the gem. An extremely thin coating was added to the gem, known as DLC or Amorphous Diamond. This resulted in the gem getting much more hard and lustrous and so much more diamond-like.

So now, if you buy your cubic zirconia pendants, ear-rings or other jewellery, you’ll know that you’re wearing an unbelievable little bit of beautiful jewellery that is available solely due to the miracles of science!

Jewellery Shopping Via The Computer Is A Lot More Convenient

Friday, February 5th, 2010

If you’ve become more price conscious recently with your purchasing decisions, you’re not alone, as there are increasing numbers of people learning to buy jewellery online rather than shop on the high street.

Whether its pearl earrings or silver necklaces you’re looking to buy, the high street stores tend to charge more than online stores. This is often due to the costly overheads that high street stores have, and they charge high prices to cover their costs. For many, the only option is to buy jewellery online, because they refuse to pay store prices. Buy jewellery online and you can rest assured that the prices are good value.

Everyone has their own reason for buying jewellery online, but for me it is because I can get so much more for my money. In times of a recession, the last thing I want to be doing is spending considerable amounts of money on jewellery. That’s why the online shopping world appeals so much. I can buy 2 or 3 pieces for the same price of what I would pay on the high street. Plus, buying online means you benefit from gift-wrapping, which the high street rarely offers. Go into a jeweller’s in the city and it is unlikely to be gift-wrapped.

I did a bit of research and found that most people feel the same about this subject – they all prefer buying jewellery online! Although it can’t be felt and viewed in person before buying, great photography online means that much of the jewellery advertised these days is beautifully presented and made to look super stunning just from its appearance on the web. For me, the added benefit of online security makes all the difference and it saves me driving into town to look for what I want!

With a vast choice of jewellery and designers online, I just cant see the need for anyone to leave home to do their shopping. The Internet is accessible to all and there is the opportunity to buy jewellery online that genuinely is great value. The best part is when you have an upcoming event that you need to buy a gift for, because that’s when the online world really comes into its own.

How To Give The Gift Of Love With Jewellery

Monday, January 25th, 2010

Everyone likes to be presented with stunning jewellery at any time during the year, but the occasion is made so much more special when the gift is given with love and stunning wrapping paper. Presentation is everything and if you’re looking at cubic zirconia pendants, the most important thing is to make sure the item comes gift boxed. Check out the jeweller prior to buying so you know if they are going to supply you with a stunning gift box.

Where Will You Hide It?

Some retailers may even do the gift-wrapping for you, which saves you a job! That’s the hard part out the way – now you can turn your attention to other important gift aspects. Once you have the perfect gift all sorted you then have to start thinking about ways to present the gift on the special day. If it’s a cubic zirconia pendant for Christmas, perhaps you can put it under the tree and leave her guessing as to what it is. If it’s a birthday present then you might have to hide it somewhere where she is unlikely to uncover it. Many women actively seek out their presents because they are naturally the inquisitive type, which means men will have to try a bit harder to hide the cubic zirconia pendant gift they have bought.

Presentation Is Everything

Always think about first impressions – a woman’s eyes will light up if she sees a stylish jewellery box. Sticking a cubic zirconia pendant in an old cardboard box won’t impress and the packaging should be just as important as the actual gift. In order to encourage your loved one to open the gift, the wrapping and jewellery box should be beautifully presented.

Choose wrapping paper that is feminine and stylish as this will complement the gift well. If your wrapping skills are somewhat to be desired, don’t try and be too fussy with your wrapping – keep it simple and it will look better.
